32 trophies were awarded to Romanian agencies and companies at Romanian EFFIE Awards 2016
The grand prize, Grand EFFIE trophy, was won by Leo Burnett & Target for the Telekom Romania „Tadaaam GigaWeekend” campaign at the 13th edition of Romanian Effie Awards. In total, 12 agencies and companies have received trophies, including a Grand EFFIE, five gold trophies, nine silver and 17 bronze. The awarding ceremony took place on September 22 at the National Museum of Art and was presented by Andreea Esca (the most important TV News Presenter from Romania, on Pro TV).
The winners were CAP, GMP Advertising, Graffiti BBDO, Heist Industries, Jazz, Kubis Interactive, Leo Burnett România, McCann Worldgroup România, Nurun, Orange România, Publicis România, and Webstyler.
The jury was led by Paweł Tyszkiewicz, Chairman & CEO of Polish Polish EFFIE Committee Marketing Communications Association SAR, and it was composed of 90 people, representatives from companies and advertising agencies top management and academic field. 88 campaigns, from which 49 passed the first judging round, were evaluated based on their sales results and communication objectives.
“Effie Romania is getting stronger, better defined, business oriented marketing industry event with strong educational function imprinted in the process.
I was honored to take part at the first Effie Romania edition that presented substantial changes: new questionnaire for presenting cases, new way of evaluating cases and finally and most important new type of interaction between jury members – discussing each campaign in a very strict and organized manner.
We were discussing and evaluating four areas – strategic communication challenge & objectives, strategic insight and ideas, bringing the idea to live and results. I am very happy to say that the new procedure presented very good results, it was very well organized and provoked mature, quality searching discussions. The way each group of the jury members was composed (advertising, marketing, research, academics), the selection of each senior – that had to be experienced and opened for honest, specialized discussions – resulted with very insightful debates. The jury members were persistent in searching for strong and week points of each campaign that entered the competition.
Keeping and developing this procedure will bring you even better and more effective campaigns in the future because those discussions, shearing opinions between practitioners, create strong ambitious, competing marketing industry”, said Paweł Tyszkiewicz.
Leo Burnett & Target, Grand EFFIE winner, has obtained other four awards for the same campaign – Telekom – Tadaaam GigaWeekend: Gold in Telecommunications category, Silver in Engaged Communities and Bronze in Brand Experience, and one Bronze for Bergenbier Football (Alcoholic beverages – Beers).
McCann Worldgroup Romania won a total of 12 trophies: Gold EFFIE at Sustained Success category for Doncafe – Billions of moments, one Silver in GoodWorks Effie – Non – Profit and Media Innovation for National Institute for Blood & Untold – Pay with blood campaign, one Silver in Engaged Communities for Vodafone – Raymond and the Romanian Immigrants campaign, one Silver in alcoholic beverages – Beers Neumarkt – For Proper Men campaign, one Silver in Retail for American Bites, two Bronze EFFIE in Non-alcoholic beverages & Renaissance for Amigo – Real energy, not just words campaign, one Bronze EFFIE in Retail for KFC – duet campaign, one Bronze EFFIE – Brand Experience for Fakation campaign, one Bronze EFFIE – Retail for Pizza Hut – No Keyboard campaign and one Bronze EFFIE – Telecommunications Vodafone for Hai Simona! campaign.
Publicis Romania received five Effie awards EFFIE: a Gold EFFIE for ACR – Google Streetview test in the Others category, three trophies for Shop like a Jedi – Carrefour (one Bronze Effie in Retail, Shopper Marketing and Brand Experience) signed by Nurun, and one Bronze in Retail for eMag- Shop anytime, anywhere campaign.
GMP Advertising obtained a Gold EFFIE for the FRF – The Reconquered Stadium campaign submitted in the Engaged Communities category, a Silver in Telecommunications Telekom for Christmas designed by kids campaign and a Bronze EFFIE for Ciucas Şerif la relaxare campaign in Shopper Marketing relaxation.
Jazz agency won a Gold EFFIE in the EFFIE GoodWorks – Non – Profit category for the Stop the massacre, save our songbirds (Natura 2000 NGO Coalition) campaign.
The awarded brands were: ACR, Amigo, Bergenbier, Burn, Carrefour, Ciucaș, Dacia Logan Prestige, Doncafé, eMAG, Federația Română de Fotbal, Grolsch, ING Bank, KFC, National Institute for Blood & Untold, Natura 2000 NGO Coalition, Neumarkt, Orange, Pizza Hut, Telekom and Vodafone.
EFFIE Romania program continues. All the insights and feedbacks gathered from the two judging rounds, but also from the consulting sessions will contribute to the making of EFFIE Insight Guide – a tool to help agencies and clients creating more efficient campaigns by gaining a better picture of the industry. This will be released in November.
